Landon/Mama date night (with milkshakes, obviously!)
Landon and Brooklyn's first train ride! We took the Coaster with friends (just 1 stop and back).
Blanket capes!
Palm Desert with the Zims
Landon's swimming went from about a single stroke to swimming almost the length of our pool the day after we got back, thanks to lessons with Daddy!
We stopped to visit the T-rex on our way home.
This makes grocery shopping so much easier! (Until they start biting each other, that is.)
Landon and Jacob tried a gymnastics class.
If you ask her to run, Brooklyn usually says, "fast!" and runs with her arms behind her (like she's holding a cape back)...and we don't know where she learned it.
We love going to "Zoe's house" to play!
Brooklyn seems to love (almost) all animals. She usually chases after them shouting, "Hug! hug!" with her arms out. (I have no doubt she would also kiss them if they allowed her to.)
She has "mastered" jumping with both feet off the ground.

Brooklyn has had some funny sayings and mispronunciations these last 2 months...I really should have kept better track of them earlier on. Here are a few...
When she notices letters (on a sign, a book or anywhere), she exclaims, "A.B.'s!" (She just recently started calling them "A.B.C.'s!") She can identify several of them and knows that 'B' is for Brooklyn.
If you aren't giving Brooklyn the attention she wants and you're sitting next to her, she grabs your nose and moves it toward what she wants to show you.
When she wants you to follow her, she yells, "Ummmon. UmmmON!" (come on), and if you don't follow right away she'll pull your leg toward where she wants you to be .
Anytime she is startled by a noise, her immediate reaction is to exclaim, "GHOST!"
She is at the stage where she prefers to walk up/down stairs and do many things all by her"SELF!"

She always asks, "doing?" to find out what we're doing.

She always asks, "doing?" to find out what we're doing.
"Ahhhhh oooo?" = Where aaare youuuu?
Landon loves to pretend to be superheroes and fight bad guys. Brooklyn has gotten roped into it so many times that now she yells, "bad guys! bad guys!" when she pops bubbles, hits the water coming out of the sprinklers or has a sword shaped object in her hand (then runs down the hall).
Landon loves to play "Go Tell Someone", as he has named the game, with Brooklyn. We used to play it with him when he had just learned his animal sounds, and he loves telling Brooklyn to "go tell [someone in the next room] what a [animal] says."
We love his school, especially the miniature horses, turkeys, sheep and other animals. It's possible that Brooklyn loves Landon's preschool even more than him - she's obsessed with feeding the sheep, gobbling at the turkeys and patting Cocoa and Cookie (horses). Don't tell Landon, but Brooklyn and I usually spend about 20 minutes with the animals after we drop him off as well as before we pick him up.
Before Landon started going to preschool I had all of these ideas of how productive I would be with just one child in my care. After the first 3 errands on Landon's first day of school I realized that this was not the time to drag Brooklyn around the city running errands and trying to clean the house in the 4 hours we have between drop-off and pick-up. Brooklyn never got one-on-one time like Landon had for his first 21 months before his sister arrived. SO, we try to do something fun each school day (in addition to an errand/chore or two).
We started attending a Music & Movement class once a week.
After 2 months in the front pack while Landon had all the fun, it was finally Brooklyn's turn to play at MyGym! (She didn't love having to sit for certain periods of time or the ball pit, but she seemed to enjoy the rest.)
Landon has gotten to be quite a bit more social with other kids since he began going to preschool. He now plays with random kids at the park as if they were his best buddies. It's so much fun to watch him interact!
Landon loves movies! He is seriously obsessed with any movie he watches and wants to reenact it constantly, day after day...until he watches a new movie.
I forgot how much fun regular old sprinklers could be!
Visiting the fire station
Park with Zoe
Landon moved out of his toddler bed (with rails) into a BIG boy bed. He loves his new bed (AND the sharks that protect him on the comforter)!
I wanted to be sure to get a picture of his first night sleeping in his bed because I love looking back at the picture of how tiny he was when we first put him in his crib...then all of the sudden he was too big for it, as someday (hopefully not as quickly!) this bed won't look so big (mom tear).
Spider web toss...failed experiment
Landon finally volunteered to hold little Lucas.
We love the splash pad!
Chip clips, really?
Over Labor Day Weekend Daniel and I headed to Reno for our good friend's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding, and we had a great time while the kids probably had an even better time with Grammie and Papa!
She tends to turn empty boxes into boats, no matter the size.
Guinea pigs and train rides at Zoomars with Grammie, Auntie Gail & Uncle Fred
Family day at the Long Beach Aquarium
Happy 34th, Daddy!
For his birthday, Daniel wanted to go camping on the beach...so we did!
Mmmmmm....breakfast burrito!
Landon and Mason forgot to nap during naptime.
Mmmmmmm...s'mores!
The boys even had a camping practice run in the backyard before the big trip, complete with s'mores on the fire and Go Fish in the tent.
San Diego Safari Park
Landon got real personal with this gorilla!
Coozie cheers!
Winery night
Landon said he wanted to change Brooklyn's diaper. He got all the way to opening the dirty one then said, "I don't want to do it anymore....because it's too stinky." Me too, kid.
Summer water fun!
Landon started a multi-sports camp. It's fun to see him come off the field at the end with a smile on his sweaty, pink face!
Auntie Gail and Uncle Fred came for a visit. They got to spend some time reading, singing & eating hummus with Brooklyn, then picked Landon up from preschool for lunch and golfing.
Brooklyn loves her baby cousin, "Nucas" (Lucas). She constantly wants to pat, kiss and hold him.
When Daddy is in charge, the kids are put in Giants-wear. BUT at least Brooklyn knows that the SF logo reads, "Boo Dada!" I actually taught her to say, "Boo Giants," but "Boo Dada" is even better.
First Mama haircut
More 35 year old outfits
For Daniel's birthday, my parents gave he (and I) trapeze lessons. Despite our fears of reinjuring body parts, we made it through almost injury-free, had a great time and even accomplished backflip dismounts (we both failed the double backflip attempt), hanging from our knees and being caught by another trepezer.
...and here's one of our circus monkeys
We stumbled across the Anaheim Ducks' training rink and were able to watch a bit of their practice.
...then to Downtown Disney for a stroll and lunch at Rainforest Café.
The Lego store was a big hit...
...and Landon's auto creation won the race!
We've had a fantastic couple of months and are now preparing for Halloween!
