February 2017

This has been a month full of ups and downs, be we're ending on the up side!

Brooklyn began adhering to the rule of "2 year olds don't cry at Kid's Club (at Mommy's gym)" right away and has done GREAT with it! We were so excited after the first time this happened that we celebrated with froyo!

Though she's older, she hasn't lost her touch for demolition.

Brooklyn and her friend, Sasha, went to story time at the Temecula Library.

We spent Super Bowl at Peter and Amber's house. Daddy and Brooklyn recreated one of their first pictures together (Super Bowl in the NICU, 2 days old).

We drained and re-filled our pool, which turned into a really fun few hours in the morning!

Daniel had a conference in Anaheim, so the kids and I tagged along so we could spend the day with Grammie and Papa. We spent the afternoon at the kids' favorite (Pavion) park.

Both kids visited the dentist. This was Brooklyn's first time, so, after reading about Brother Bear showing Sister Bear that the dentist is OK in "The Bearenstain Bears Visit the Dentist," Landon set a really good example in the dentist's chair. Without us telling Brooklyn she was next, she kept saying, "Me no want to! I want to get out!" She did OK for her first time. Landon was a champ for the x-rays, exam and cleaning.

Daniel went to Vegas for a bachelor party, so I packed up the kids and we spent another weekend at Grammie's house. We celebrated Uncle Matt Matt's birthday and went to the Discovery Cube (which had an Eric Carle/The Very Hungry Caterpillar exhibit).

Brooklyn started back up with gymnastics and loves it!

Daddy-Landon Boys' and Mommy-Brooklyn Girls' Days:

Brooklyn let us know that she was ready to use the potty, so we dropped everything and potty trained. We lasted 8 days before admitting to ourselves she just wasn't ready yet. We'll try again at some point before high school.

Valentine's Day started out great! The kids loved their cards/treats and heart-shaped foods we made for each other and received from loved ones. On our way to preschool we saw 6 hot air balloons (practically in our backyard). Landon was excited about his Valentine's party at school and all of the valentines he received from his friends at school. I think his favorite part of the day was eating dinner with the candles lit. The day ended with Brooklyn at the after hours doctor's office due to hives. She was in good spirits a couple of hours past bedtime, though, and even used the potty there!

Brooklyn had a virus which caused her to break out in hives and gave her a separate rash and fever. Luckily she didn't seem to know she was sick, aside from after the doctor examining her tummy - she kept telling us "Da doctor wiped my rash off."

Landon had a fun afternoon at the cousins' house one day while Brooklyn was potty training at home. Thank you Auntie Amber for lessening my load!

They had a Cowboy Day (Landon pictured with his best buddies, Addison and Jackson / Brooklyn with Cookie the mini horse) at Murrieta Ranch Preschool.

And Dr. Seuss Day (unplanned to match Addie)...

Relaxing...

Lovin' on each other...

Brooklyn has recently been requesting that her brother put her down for bed/naps. It seems to make him feel important and responsible, and he does a GREAT job "reading" her stories he has memorized, rocking with her in the chair and singing songs to her. They both love it!

Surprising Auntie for her birthday...

 And it's on to March...

Bloopers:
She can put back 1.5 In-N-Out "cheese-hamburgers", French fries and half a milkshake with ease.

He climbed "Pride Rock" (from the movie "The Lion King") and pretended to be Scar (the villain), hence the evil look.

It was easier to make it to the potty nakedly, so we spent some time in the backyard.

But who's counting?

What kind of faces are those?!
