June 2017

Welcome summer!

Over the last few months we've been making improvements to the backyard and exterior of the house. We started by removing the "little" palms, transplanting the sego palm and cementing those spots to make room for the patio cover and furniture.

Then the cover and furniture...

Then the removal of the giant silk oak trees that made a mess of the pool, furniture and yard...

Landon loved watching the guys cut down the trees and grind them up!

And the final product (which will look 100% better once we are comfortable taking down the pool fence)...
Before

After

Next we added electric solar on the back roof and thermal pool heating (both of which we have taken a great deal of advantage of over the last couple of weeks with the 100ish degree weather!) on the front roof.

Now, on to the cute kids...

This month we attended a few of the Summer Sunset Concerts at the outdoor Temecula amphitheater. We had a great time playing around before the concerts began and also enjoyed listening to the music.

B still loves jumping...

I can't stand how cute he is when he sleeps...

Interesting...

Double date night with Peter and Amber - we escaped from a pirate-themed escape room and had dinner and dessert.

Our sweet girl...

And sweet boy...

Daniel and some CrossFit friends participated in a competition in Imperial Beach. They did great and we all had fun cheering them on and playing at the beach between workouts.

"Go Daddy! Good job, Daddy!"

Brooklyn learned how to exercise from Daddy...check out her squats!

Landon, apparently, learns his dance moves from YouTube with Kaylee Rogers...

We have enjoyed swimming a whole bunch since the pool was been warm!

Landon has become a little fish! The first week of our warm pool we went in every single day at least once! It's all he's been wanting to do, and he is really improving his skills each time! It's so fun for us to watch, and he is so proud of himself!

Father's Day - pool party and water balloon fight (everyone v. Uncle Peter!) with the cousins!

Daniel got to attend Murrieta Ranch Preschool for a Father's Day Coffee & Donuts morning.

Blueberry picking again. It's so nice to have the Temecula Berry Co. right near our house so we can pick some berries (and feed goats, the favorite part) on a whim!

Landon seemed to really enjoy his first year of preschool (2 half days a week). He especially loved his friends (Addy Dunham, Jackson Webb and Emma Foley) and his favorite teacher (Ms. Kris), all of which will be in his class next year, when he changes to 3 half days a week, still at Murrieta Ranch Preschool. His promotion to "Pre-K" was cute!
I didn't realize how much he changed over the last 10 months until comparing pictures.

Brooklyn had a great last month at gymnastics and will be taking a little break over the summer. Uncle Fred was able to attend once, and Landon got to join her the last 2 times!

She loved Coach Tina!!!

Our little superhero...

...and curious boy...

We love our new wagon/fire truck!

My babies...

We discovered that two of our trees that drop fruit are called Thunderstorm Cherry Plum trees, and the kids LOVE picking the "cherr-o's," although they're quite sour.

Daddy had Brooklyn cheering for the Warriors.

Happy 1st birthday, Mackenzie!

Grammie and I enjoyed a spa day together while the boys were in change of the kids!

While we were in Mission Viejo, we had to visit our favorite park in the whole world, Pavion Park by Grammie and Papa's house (twice)...

Apparently it was exhausting...

Papa and Papa Tom teaching Brooklyn and Landon how to play cards...

Painting day!

Picnic lunches are the best!

Matching cousins...

Acceptable drinking while driving...

Landon loves playdates with his friends, Jack and Nate Garcia!

We tried swim lessons. Landon went first, while Brooklyn and Zoe watched very intently.  He did a good job, but he didn't enjoy it or seem to get anymore out of it than when he swims with us.

Brooklyn hated it. She followed the instructions but cried almost the whole time (after watching Zoe do the same).

Grammie, Papa and Tyson came to visit!

Brooklyn "helped" Grammie put on her make-up.

Landon and Mommy had a fun date night. We saw a performance of Mary Poppins, went to a Chinese restaurant and froyo after. Landon REALLY enjoyed his first live performance, although it was so tough to be quiet and not ask questions for an hour and a half at a time! We had a blast together!!!

While we were out, Daddy and Brooklyn had a froyo and a movie at home date!

Packing for our annual 4th of July trip...these are just Brooklyn's red, white & blue clothes...

...and Landon's 5 pairs of red, white & blue swim trunks...

"Huggie!!!!!!" She still loves giving hugs! One day we went to the mall, and Brooklyn hugged every single planter, tree and light post (as well as many racks of clothing) she could find that day.

My little monkeys...

June Bloopers:

"Smile for the picture" = strangle your sister and pick your nose
She likes ketchup....A LOT!

"Mommy, did I do the lotion right?" Ummmm...
