We celebrated New Year's Day at Pappou and Babcia's house, and the kids loved the special cake. Babcia baked a cake with a coin in it, and Pappou cut a piece for the house and for each person present, in order of birth. Whoever gets the random piece with the coin in it (Daniel) is supposed to have good luck for the year!

Date night! B and I went to Pizza Factory then came home to watch a movie in our cozy robes while eating popcorn and a lollipop (the lollipop was her treat for finishing her reading sticker chart, and just happened to land on this day) and doing each other's make-up. Daniel and Landon played video games upstairs while we were downstairs.

Getting ready for Valentine's Day - all hearts, red & pink for this girl for the first half of the month!
Family puzzle night! The kids gave Daniel this candy puzzle for Christmas, and we put it together together. (Daniel and I finished it after they went to bed because we couldn't not, then we took a few chunks of pieces out for the kids to "finish" the next day.)

Jeremy from next door came over one day and wanted to play soccer. Brooklyn said, "Guys, can you wait for me? Please don't play until I come back!" While the boys were setting the goals up Brooklyn ran upstairs, put on her "Poland" soccer uniform and her red headband and ran out to play. (Also, she did great at goalie and scoring too!)
Auntie Gail & Uncle Fred sent Brooklyn a butterfly garden with 5 live caterpillars for her birthday.
Brooklyn and I attended her best buddy from school, Indie's, 5th birthday party. They (clearly) did each other's make-up, bounced on the bounce house and Brooklyn spent a lot of the time playing fetch with one of the dogs.
We are very into "Forky Asks a Question" these days - thank you for the shirt, Grammie!

We had Brooklyn's birthday dinner at Pappou and Babcia's house and watched her bday video there. (Landon helped me edit the video a couple of nights.) She requested grasshopper pie, strawberries, steak, mushrooms and bell peppers.
On Brooklyn's actual birthday, she woke up to balloons and got to go with Daddy to get donuts, hot chocolate and a cake pop then to Get Air, then she and I took the neighbor dog, Oso, for a walk (which was way more exciting for her than it sounds) and Landon joined us for School of Rock and In N Out.

Crazy Hair & Socks Day at Rancho Elementary. Landon wasn't going to participate in the crazy hair part, but Jacob said he was going to have red & gold (yellow) hair for the 49ers, so Landon joined in on that. (Thanks, Jacob!)
