Our 10th annual trip to San Luis Obispo / Pismo Beach for the 4th of July was a blast! We stayed in a house in SLO with the Palmquists, Fenwicks and Rogers' (8 adults & 9 kids) for 7 days.
We all left our homes at 4am (to minimize traffic and maximize our arrival day) and met at Honeymoon Café in Pismo Beach for breakfast.
Our vacation home, "Casa Monte", was a great place to come home to for relaxation and fun for all.

Firestone Grill stop #1
Girls' Morning included coffee, brunch, pedicures, tequila shots and ice cream sandwiches.
On Girls' Day, the boys took 8 of the kids to Avila Valley Barn and the Central Coast Aquarium.
Our new favorite tradition: 3rd of July fireworks - no traffic, easy parking, good naps on the 4th, no fog disrupting the fireworks, a park to play at leading up to dark and a great show!
We went to Avila Beach on the 4th of July. Landon had a great time playing with a truck in the sand and with his buddies. Brooklyn LOVED everything about the beach, from the cold water to rolling in the sand.
Boys' Day was spent downhill mountain biking...
...while the girls took the kids to the SLO Children's Museum.
Happy Hour at The Cliffs is always fun. (Melis made the all of kids matching shirts.)
We also enjoyed a picnic lunch and wine tasting at Baileyana Winery.
Adult Night in Downtown SLO (dinner at SLO Brew, drinks at Sidecar and a walk through Bubblegum Alley)
Our trip wouldn't be complete without a walk on the Pismo Pier (where Daniel and I got engaged).

Landon and the bigger kids were knelt down peeking through the cracks of the pier at the waves below. Brooklyn must have thought they were napping...and followed suit. :) |
Bonus beach day! We headed down to Pismo Beach for some more sand play (after lunch at Splash Café).
