August 2017

Daddy's girl

We have some new comedians in our house.

Daniel and I got a night away to go to a wedding in San Marcos. Thank you for babysitting, Grammie and Papa!

These butterfly wings didn't come off for a couple of days!

Story time with Uncle Peter

We put him to bed with all toys put away, and this is what we found a couple of hours later...organization by character.

We went to Paso Robles, CA for a long weekend and stayed in a house with Peter, Amber & the cousins, Vovo & Vova and Andrew Amjad.

Our vacation home even had a trampoline in the backyard!

And a big girl bed for Brooklyn! She loved it (and did great in it)!

Our little family arrived at 9am Friday and headed straight to Splash Cafe for breakfast then a couple of hours on Pismo Beach. The kids were great travelers, and they had the best time playing in a hole that someone else had dug up and left "for us"!

The adults attended Bobby & Danielle Harders' wedding.

We had to stop at Firestone Grill for lunch on our way out of town...

...then back to Pismo beach...

...then to ice cream...

...and another beach to play in the sand and run from, jump over & dance with the waves...then dinner and home by 11pm.

Zoe's Elsa (from the movie, "Frozen") costume is a big hit!

The kids spent the night at their cousin's house while Daniel and I attended a Padres baseball game with Daniel's work.

Ice cream with the cousins

"Show me your muscles, Spidey."

Landon started Pre-K this month. He's back in the same room with the same teachers he had at the end of last year and many of the same classmates, which made getting back into it quite easy. He's so happy to be back, loves riding to and from school with Zoe and is excited to play superheroes with his best buddy, Jackson, each day! He's now going 3 half days a week (last year he did 2 half days).

One last hug from Sister. He didn't need it...but she did. :)

We celebrated his first day at Chuck E Cheese's, one of Landon's favorite activities. Uncle Matt Matt was in town visiting, so he got to join us too!

The next day we jumped our hearts out at the trampoline place with Megan, Mason & Marlee Fenwick. It was toddler time, so we had free reign of the whole place (normally the little ones are confined to just a small area so they don't get trampled over), so this was a treat!

Sprinkler fun

National Night Out in Fallbrook gave us an opportunity to explore inside police vehicles, with horses & dogs and with a bomb squad robot.

Auntie Amber & Jacob joined Landon & me for a Home Depot Kids' Workshop date, where we built a mini moving truck.

Costuming

We all played at the Splash Pad for Landon's friend, Trevor's, birthday.

Twinsies...thanks, Grammie!

This doesn't ever get any less cute to me!

Brooklyn frequently wears costumes out and about. Spidey seems to be the favorite these days.

Who's ready for vacation?!

Daddy ordered a new toy to play with. Who had the most fun playing with it? ;-)

Daniel and I took Zoe to dinner and ice cream to celebrate her 3rd birthday. What a character she is!

We had so much fun at the trampoline park the first time that we went back the following week on our way to a doctor's appointment in San Diego.

...then drove to Fiesta Island for a picnic lunch and walk on the (chilly) beach. The kids had such a great time playing with each other there!

...then to Old Town San Diego for some fresh tortillas. We were going to go to the model train museum, but it was closed...so when we stumbled upon these cowboys we played there a little.

...then, at last, to the pediatric allergist for testing and Q&A. The skin and blood tests were pretty tough for our little guy but we got some good news out of it - he's not actually allergic to a few of the nuts the previous doctor said he was! We're back on coconut (the oil is in everything!), pine nuts (he used to, and does again, love pesto!) and almonds..yay!!! Still no pecans, walnuts, pistachios or cashews though.

...and, lastly, to froyo, as promised, following the blood draw.

This big girl climbed all the way to the top rock by herself several times!

"Jump! I'll catch you, Nandon!"

Daddy makes the best playground!

Practice makes perfect. Little does he know that with his genes he'll have a WHOLE lot of practice beginning in a few years!

Brooklyn has always loved Handsome, the neighbor's cat, and now Landon does too. It's too bad his allergies caused him to look like he had a black eye for the rest of the day after playing with Handsome.

Landon successfully swatted a fly. I was really craving frozen yogurt, so I told him that if he could get a second one we would go to froyo. He got three, so we invited the cousins!

Park outing

Solar eclipse

Landon's first homework assignment was to make a poster about himself. He wanted to write it all by himself, and he did great! The only parts that we helped him with were finding & printing pictures, giving ideas of what we think he's good at (because when I read, "I am really good at..." he repeated his answer to the previous question: "Superhero") and covering up the picture he drew of Elsa (from the movie "Frozen") in the spot that says, "This is a picture of me" (because, at the time, he was pretending to be Elsa. (He didn't understand why he had to break character.)

Brooklyn just started back at gymnastics.

My favorite superheroes - they were so happy playing together for so long that I postponed interrupting them to run our errands.

Brooklyn came with us to drop Landon and Zoe off at school one day, and the girls spent a full minute high-fiving each other through the fence and giggling when they said goodbye.

Our little cuties now both have strong opinions about the clothes they wear.

We love them so much!!!
