April 2019

April was a big month for us! Amongst a whole bunch of playdates with different friends we went to Disneyland, celebrated birthdays, went camping, visited Grammie & Papa for Easter, spent Greek Easter with the family in Temecula, went to Sea World and Pappou and Babcia moved here amongst other fun activities!

Brooklyn continued with MyGym. Landon went to watch during Spring Break, and he brought his "spend money" to purchase a Mymo the Monkey stuffed animal (while Brooklyn wore her MyGym t-shirt that she previously purchased). Her preschool teacher says she's extremely diligent, usually the last one working on worksheets (especially when stickers are involved).

The kids love going to Daniel's work. I mean LOOOOOVE it. We told them they could visit Daddy at work IF they cleaned up the entire playroom, a task that took them a solid 3 hours (without much whining!!). They really earned it! And this time Landon was really excited to use Daddy's headset (and get treats from the candy drawer, of course)!

The kids helped decorate the house for my birthday! Landon even wrote things he thought I'd love on all of the balloons

He also decided to wrap up 3 books and said he would read them all to me that day.

The kids took me to lunch (and shared a pizzookie with me) on my big day...

...and the cousins joined us for dinner that night!

Landon doing chores:

Brooklyn likes going to Landon's soccer games because she gets to climb all over Daddy! Practices are especially fun, too, on days where Daddy and Uncle Peter (who takes Zoe to practice on the field next to Landon's) join us and scrimmage against the little ones!

Landon has improved so much at soccer! He's getting to be more aggressive and following the ball after he kicks it. He has scored several goals, but he LOVES playing defense. He almost always anticipates the other team heading to goal and gets back as quickly as he can, he makes a bunch of saves each game and he even asks his coach of it's okay to stay back to defend their goal.

For my birthday, the kids took me to the beach and to get ice cream. We had a great day! Megan and the kids joined us at the beach, and we met the Rogers for dinner.

Here the kids are patiently waiting for their ice cream!

Strawberry, blue monster and purple dragon!!

Every so often Landon gets an urge to sort our candy stash and separate it into bags to give away. This time he took the bags outside and tried to give them to neighbors and passerbys. Unfortunately, he didn't get any takers.

Daniel and Peter took the kids out to Vail Ranch to play around. They had a great time!

More birthday ice cream!

...and more MyGym!

We camped at Doheny with the Fenwicks. It was a great weekend of playing in the sand & waves, biking, golfing (chipping?), climbing on rocks (& fording a river to get there and back) dancing in the RV and snuggling.

Accidental twinning :)

 This girl loves her daddy!

...and "reading" in her glider.

Brooklyn had a playdate with Celse at the park. They got along great!

These kiddos are opposite sleepers. Landon wears shorts & short sleeves (sometimes no shirt) and sprawls out without covers (and moves to different places on his sheet to find cooler spots). Brooklyn loves fleece PJs, and she wraps herself up like a burrito in her comforter (often with her entire head tucked inside). This guy was tired from the Jumprope for Heart activity at school. He told me he did GREAT at jumproping, and he showed us his jumprope skills that weekend!

Little bunny preparing for Easter!

We headed to Grammie's house for Easter weekend. First stop, Bunny Days!

Then we stopped at In N Out for Landon's birthday celebration...

...and headed back to Grammie's for cake (which he requested to help make, and did) and presents!

The next day the Easter bunny had made a stop at Grammie's house! We had baskets, a big egg hunt, waffles with strawberries & whipped cream, played cards, jumproped and had a great time with Grammie & Papa and Papa Tom & Gramma Joan!

Brooklyn used her water gun to clean up the Easter bunny' paw prints.

Jelly beans, matching dresses and press-on nails (which she took to school for her show-and-tell)! What more couple a girl ask for?!

Grammie made Landon's favorite breakfast (Grammie's "wawas," as he used to call them).

We also dyed eggs

We stayed at Grammie's house an extra night and surprised the kids with a day at Disneyland for Landon's birthday (on the day before his birthday).

Landon didn't care for Space Mountain, but he seemed to enjoy more rides than Brooklyn (who only liked the carousel and boat rides that were slow, not dark, not bumpy or jerky and didn't have any dips (i.e. It's a Small World, Jungle Cruise and Storybook Land). She cried on every other ride.

Landon's favorite thing at Disneyland was Tarzan's Treehouse, where you walk up steps and walk back down, then play with the "instruments" and on the tree roots.

We had a lul where both kids asked continuously if we could go home from 2-6pm. We almost walked out of the park at 6, but instead we fed them continuous small amounts of sugar for the next 2 hours and, what do you know?! They were happy to be at Disney!

What a sticky mess!

The kids ate their lollipops until about 20 minutes before the light show / fireworks. Landon dozed off about 2 minutes before the show started but popped right up as soon as the music began. Brooklyn nodded off about 10 minutes before the show started, and she didn't notice when it started and wouldn't even open her eyes when we tried.

Landon LOVED the night show!!! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! We had to take Brooklyn out of the stroller to get on the tram to get to our car, so she slept more on me and ended up emptying her bladder all over herself, me and the tram without waking up. Oops!

The next day was Landon's actual birthday. He mentioned how excited he was for his Birthday Eve every year to go to Disneyland - oh man, what a mistake we made! But his birthday was awesome! Lots of attention at home and school, a balloon fight in the morning, cool gifts, taco salad (by request), trick candles (by request), cousins and rice krispy treats with a bubblegum and sprinkles bar (also by request). :)
6 flavors for 6 years

Landon loves all of his birthday toys! At his 6 year old well-check appointment we found out that he's in the 17th percentile for weight and 28th percentile for height. He has 20/25 vision (which might get to 20/20, but we'll keep an eye on it), will meet the general surgeon to discuss his umbillical hernia and Dr. Robbins said he could stop using his daily inhaler until the fall (and possibly stop permanently next spring - fingers crossed!).

We love watching Tyson!

We celebrated Greek Easter at our house with Pappou & Babcia, Grammie & Papa, Peter & Amber, the cousins and Vovo & Vova.

Someone had to find a new climbing tree because her favorite one was cut down. She found out the hard way that the Thunderstorm Cherry Plum Tree was not the best choice.

Grammie and Papa joined us at Sea World.

The super silly seal lion show, climbing ropes and polar bear caves were the crowd favorites!

After Sea World, we went to dinner right by the beach and had some play time in the sand!

It was a long day!!

Landon's favorite Easter egg is the one he decorated like the Golden State Warriors.

This girl has her own sense of style!

What's a trip to the mall without a train ride?

Landon and Jacob finished up STEAM Club by writing with a 3D pen.

Cousins!
