Landon is now 2 months old. He has grown so much, and we're settling into our little family of 3.
In the last month (as of 6/22/13)...
- He weighs 12lbs 7oz (72nd percentile) and is 23.5" long (73rd percentile).
- Our days are no longer consumed by eating (woohoo!). Landon has gotten more efficient at eating (the Industrial Engineer in the family (Daniel), thinks he must have learned the efficiency of maximizing product flow on a reduced schedule from him), so we're able to have more playtime. :)
- Playtime these days consists of...
- staring at the ceiling fans, whether they are still or spinning.
- hanging out on his play mat with the bright colors and patterns - I think he tries to swat at the toys, but has his hands mixed up. He sometimes stares at the toy on the right and hits the toy on the left time and time again - he doesn't even realize he's touching one.
- "chatting" with Daniel and me - he is beginning to coo more and more. We have "conversations" daily, and it is too much fun to see him find his voice!
- chatting with Gerome the Giraffe and the Monkeys - we put him under the animals during diaper changes, and sometimes stays there a little longer because he seems to love it so much!
- looking at books while he's read to - his favorite books, as far as I am able to decipher, seem to be "The Rainbow Fish" (courtesy of the Goods) and "There's a Wocket in my Pocket" (courtesy of the Sutherlands).
- tummy time - what a difference a month makes! He just recently turned a corner and enjoys sitting up on his tummy for extended periods (10 minutes) of time, rather than snoozing on his stomach.
- bath time - Landon is enjoying this much more than the first few times.
- walking (strolling) around our neighborhood, which really turns into nap time rather than playtime.
- watching Daniel and me at the gym - I know it sounds thrilling, but it keeps us sane and is becoming more and more regular (and he has buddies that go sometimes as well).
- Landon's favorite activity: watching the mobile in his crib (thanks Careys!) - he can't get enough of it! Luckily, it eventually puts him to sleep, but seeing him smile and laugh so much gets me to wind it up a few times before he eventually falls asleep for a nap.
- We are, by no means, on a schedule at this time, but it is SO nice to be fairly predictable in mealtimes and nap times. It makes social planning and errand running much easier for us all.
- He giggles! It is so fun to see and hear our little guy laugh. The very first time was when he was watching his mobile and he's giggled a bit since, mostly when we make funny noises or talk to him.
- He has gone to a few new places this month...
- We spent Father's Day on Coronado Island, just relaxing.
- He has his first cold :(
We are really enjoying this time and know it is going to fly by, so we're trying to soak it all up!
