Landon - Month 11

Landon is now 11 months old.

In the last month...
- He weighs 20lbs 6oz (25th percentile) and is 28.25" long (19th percentile).

- Landon points to everything! He can point out a tree, grass, outside, banana, clock, fans, light, ball, pictures of particular things in books, certain stuffed animals by name and more.

- He gives (big, wet, open-mouthed) kisses on command...as well as when the mood strikes him. (He even kisses the giant rubber duckie during bath time.) We think that blowing kisses is a lost cause (because he won't allow anyone to move his arms to show him how to do it), but we're working on giving hugs.

- Landon plays peek-a-boo. He finds a blanket, paper towel, pajama pants, the crib rail or his arm to cover his eyes and play along.

- Our little guy has started to make some sound effects. When you ask him what a clock says he responds with "ti(ck) to(ck), ti(ck) to(ck)" in a whisper and knows that a bee says "bbbbbbbbbb(zzz)". He is also adding new words to his vocabulary each week!

- He's getting to be a little more brave each day. He will stand on his own for a bit if he finds a toy he wants to hold in both hands, and he will (reluctantly) walk holding onto someone with just one of his hands now. (He definitely could walk on his own IF he was willing to try.) He is now able to go down the stairs (instead of just up) on his own, which is a relief for us with the tile at the bottom of our steep steps.

- Landon's favorite places are 1) anywhere outdoors and 2) the couch. One of his favorite daily activities is crawling as fast as he can from one end of the couch to the other, intentionally face planting a few times along the way, back and forth, back and forth, waiting for us to tickle him when he falls. He also loves standing on the couch while he either opens the shutters or bounces.

- His favorite day of the week is Wednesday because he gets to listen to and watch the gardeners (who always look for him and wave) as he eats his breakfast. It's quite the thrill.

- We were able to celebrate Landon's first St. Patty's Day with him as well as his future alma mater's (Cal Poly) basketball team making it into the NCAA Tournament (for the first time ever).

- We visited Daniel's brother and his family in Arizona again. Landon attended his first Spring Training game, although he didn't watch too much of baseball itself. We always have so much fun, and Landon loves playing with his cousin, Jacob!

We can't believe he will be a year old in just one month! Where does the time go???
