Brooklyn caught a praying mantis and let it crawl all over her. We kept it as a pet for about 24 hours. It stayed in Brooklyn's garden overnight after we fed it a live cricket. Unfortunately, it got loved a bit too much.
We finally got rid of the ugly green striped walls in the playroom (and added a cool light). The kids were excited to help paint!
More skateboarding practice...
In our reorganization of the playroom, we brought Brooklyn's play kitchen up to her bedroom next to her baby station and rearranged her room to accomodate it. She was really excited to have a "new room."
She was so happy about it that we decided to update Landon's room as well. We took everything down, added some of his artwork from 1st grade and he decided where to put all of it.
Brooklyn's stuffies were all given a special home in the new setup.
We busted out more science experiments, this time all relating to snow, which was a lot of fun.
Brooklyn made a diamond necklace for herself.
The kids and I rode our bikes over to our favorite hide and seek tag area. We played hide and seek tag, freeze tag, Sequence, read a couple of pages of a book, snacked and found a climbing (swinging, rather) tree.

We took a day trip up to Mission Viejo to celebrate Grammie and Papa's 50th anniversary with them. It was not the type of celebration any of us imagined at their 49th anniversary, but it turned out very nice (and small). The kids made cards and a huge banner for them, we brought cards from many of their friends congratulating and wishing them well, we created a picture board of pictures friends sent and my own, had flowers that resembled Grammie's wedding bouquet and a cake similar to a tier of their wedding cake. (Brooklyn painted bells and swan beaks/eyes white to match their cake topper, but when we revealed the cake Grammie ran upstairs and brought down their ACTUAL wedding cake topper!! Who would have guessed they still had it?!) We planned to be outside all day, but it was over 100 degrees outside and we wouldn't have lasted. We celebrated inside their house, and the kids sneakily distracted them while Daniel and I decorated. We toasted with Uncle Matt Matt's favorite champagne, ate a whole lot of food, drank some Rombauer, played and read together. It was a wonderful day (but with the giant packing list I left our fancy clothes at home - oops!)!

The day before the first day of online school Brooklyn and I made cookies for ice cream sandwiches to have as a first day snack!
The first couple of days of (online) school were a bit of a mess, but we got through them.
Landon's 2nd grade teacher at Crowne Hill Elementary (because Rancho Elementary is being renovated this year) is Mrs. Gelinas, and he would like to be an artist when he grows up.
Brooklyn's kindergarten teacher is Mrs. Mason, and Brooklyn hopes to be a trash collector, veterinarian and inventor when she grows up.
Business on top (Mommy's choice of clothes) and party on the bottom (kids' choices)!
Brooklyn's favorite kinder activity was couting 10 Cheerios as she put them in her mouth.
Landon's favorite was doing GoNoodle.
Special end of the first day toast with Fanta!
When I asked Brooklyn to pick out her outift for the following day, I didn't expect that she would also lay her purse out over her clothes exactly as it would look if she were wearing it.
Our own classroom
An example assignment of L's - draw and label an example of a good (burger) and a service (chef cooking).
More fun pooltime. Zoe and Luke took swimming lessons, so they joined us in the swimming fun.
Grammie got the kids coordinating Xmas jammies, but they love matching so much that they didn't want to wait for December!
Brooklyn enjoyed her geometry lesson (building a house out of shapes), and she took it farther to building a pool with a fence around it for Rapunzel to sit in.
After school, both kids usd all of the shapes and counters to create a village.
We went to Pappou and Babcia's house for dinner one night. The kids love climbing on the exercise equipment (and Daddy - he picked up the 4 youngest).
Auntie Amber showed us her new-found hidden talent of giving haircuts since salons/barbers aren't open during COVID-19.
Online P.E. is a bit different. (Kindergarteners don't have P. E. class, but Brooklyn does it with Landon.) They had to get a Ziploc bag, blow it up and juggle it with their hands and with their feet.
Brooklyn has discovered that she can read Pete the Cat books, and that's all she wanted to read for about a month, the same ones over and over!
One night she fell asleep with this little bunny sitting up watching her.
The 4 of us created a new Welcome sign for our front porch with a "O" that can be swapped out for holiday decor.
Back to the beach! Again with cousins, this time with boogie boards.
We finally remembered to bring our painted rocks to the rock garden by Handel's. Landon brought his Cal Poly rock and Brooklyn brought her watermelon painted rock.
Pedicure Saturday!
Brooklyn got up the courage to hang from the super high pull up bar, and now after Daddy's done working out in the garage she likes to hop up for a bit.
One night Landon decided to set up pre-bedtime family games. He labeled the blanket with Electric Blanket, the pillow with Zoe the Monkey and Kiss, the Lion, with King of the Bed (and a winner's crown to match).
Dinner at the cousins' house
Landon's birthday date with Uncle Peter and Auntie Amber got pushed out due to COVID-19. It was looking like he wouldn't get to go anywhere for quite some time, so we scheduled an in-home date. He wanted to get In N Out and play video games, so that's just what they did!
We then had Luke's birthday date. He wanted McDonald's and to play with his Paw Patrol toys, so we picked up dinner and played Paw Patrol. We then played Sequence (which he soon became obsessed with and borrowed to play multiple games every day), ate Jelly Bellies and played Hide and Seek in the House.
Zoe wanted In N Out and make-overs for her birthday date. She grabbed In N Out and came home for make-up, hair color and a mani/pedi while playing Sequence. She was so excited about doing Uncle D's make-up, but when it got down to it she acted super shy about it and didn't want to. As a compromise, she wanted me to do his make-up.
