Daniel finished his work trip to Netherlands (with fun stops in the beginning in Brussels and at the end in Amsterdam) in the beginning on the month. He had a great time!
We spent some time at Grammie's house while Daddy was away. Papa taught Landon how to play Free Cell, they helped Grammie keep her mind off her shoulder surgery recovery (a bit), Uncle Matt Matt took the kids on several adventures (3 parks + In N Out one day, 2 parks + Mc Donalds ice cream another, Zoomars, etc.), they played in their bunk beds and we sent Uncle Matt Matt off to Germany with a goodbye dinner.
When Daniel returned, he took a day off of work to spend with us. He and Brooklyn went to "the fountain" in the morning, and we spent the afternoon riding bikes.
This girl really likes to do things by herself!
Lately we've been asked a bunch whether or not Landon and Brooklyn are twins. I can see why...Brooklyn is just 2.4 pounds, 2.5" and 1 shoe size smaller than Landon, and they (usually) play together so well.
One last sheep feeding at Murrieta Ranch Preschool.
Landon's school held a Pre-K graduation. He and his best buddy, Jackson, even had a special part where they lead the number song. It was so much fun to watch him!
We celebrated graduation, of course, at In N Out.
We've been attending each of the Summer Sunset Concerts in the Park at the Temecula Amphitheater. One week we spotted Jackson there too! The three kids had the best time running around and wrestling on the grass!
Landon's last day of school followed his graduation. They had a pizza and pinata party for doing 100 random acts of kindness. We will miss Ms. Lori and Ms. Kris!
We celebrated the last day of school at Chuck E. Cheese's. Landon was so excited (in the picture below) because he thought he got the high score on the game. Brooklyn and Zoe liked the characters on stage.
To celebrate our brand new kindergartner and preschooler we went to the blueberry farm movie night to watch "The Incredibles."
Brooklyn heard Daniel mention "Mr. John" (Daniel's friend), and I heard her say under her breath, "He's cute." I asked her what she said, and she said, "I think Mr. John is handsome." No wonder she is especially shy around him!
We attended the Escondido Fire and Water Expo with the Fenwicks. We rode on a fire truck, Landon slid on the bouncy slide, we saw a helicopter land and watched the firefighters use all kinds of tools to get into a crashed vehicle.
Later, Landon and Mason learned how to ride their bicycles with their daddies.
The Rogers and Palmquists joined us all for dinner and outside playtime. The crazy kids were practicing for our upcoming "bacation" together.
We spent the next few days outside in the beautiful weather practicing riding bikes. The day after he learned to ride his bike he learned to start on his own. The following day he learned how to stop on his own. Brooklyn is practicing on Landon's old (and her new) balance bike.
We have also spent quite a few days in the pool. Daddy's the swim whisperer and is working with Brooklyn, who always says, "I will never put my face in the water!!!!" crying but then does it just 5 minutes in with Daniel, SOMETIMES without crying. After repeating, "I'm NEVER going to swim!!" she repeatedly put her head under the water for 10 seconds at a time with Daniel.
It's so much fun to watch Landon love the pool! He throws the toys into the water, dives, swims them back and repeats over and over.
Melis brought Addison and Kaylee out to Temecula for a swim day. We had a great 5 hours in the pool, enjoying popsicles and attending the Concert in the Park with them!
Jumping on Mommy and Daddy's bed is SO fun!
Brooklyn really loved on Tyson when he stayed with us for a while.
We met the Rogers' at the beach one day, then Grandma D and Papa Phil babysat all 4 kids while the adults went to dinner for Mike Fenwick's birthday.
For Father's Day, we made Daniel breakfast and took him to see "Incredibles 2" for Brooklyn's first movie in the big theater. Landon was excited to wear twinsie shirts with Daddy! Brooklyn was excited to wear her beanie and mittens, which she's been wearing everywhere these days! We came home for Daddy's nap and a yummy steak dinner!
Landon went to Wonders! Super Camp (science camp), had a great time and brought home so much new information! He really seemed to enjoy the camp, although he was anxious about not having any friends there.
While Landon was at camp, Brooklyn and I had a great time. One day we went blueberry picking and fed goat kids and chickens. The next day we made blueberry muffins with our berries. Brooklyn is so sweet and almost always asks, "Can Landon have one too?" when she gets a treat or even a snack, so we waited until we picked Landon up from camp to eat ours on the way home so all three of us could enjoy them together.
Another day we went to the library and got her a library card.
She even learned how to roller skate (beanie, mittens & all in the hot garage).
One day I was exercising in the house and the kids decided to join me. Landon made a whole circuit of exercises for himself, including handstands with the aide of the chair and side kicking the green (foam roller) ninja. Brooklyn joined us here and there but wasn't as into it as Landon was.
The Fenwicks and us joined the Lavaglios camping on the beach in Doheny. We had a great time playing in the sand, running from and jumping in the waves, playing in Mason & Marlee's RV, making s'mores, chasing birds, playing cards, climbing on rocks, playing in our tent and riding bikes!
On the way home we met Grammie and Papa for lunch, then went home to watch "How to Train Your Dragon" to prepare for "How to Train Your Dragon 2" at the theater for the $1 summer movie program later in the week (which we attended almost every week). During "How to Train Your Dragon 2" the main character's father dies, and Landon looked back at me and noticed I was crying. At first he tried to reassure Brooklyn and me that he didn't die. Once he realized that he actually had passed away, he said, "It's okay because he's still here" and pointed to his heart. "Zoe taught me that." Thank you, Zoe, for teaching Landon something that I would have struggled with.
We finally visited the newly renovated Veteran's Park near our house. It's a fun place to climb, practice monkey bars and fly a jet!
We couldn't very well have a library card for Brooklyn but not for her big brother, so Landon got his own card too! We've been back to the library each week for the Summer Reading Program.
The kids and I treated ourselves to a spa day at home with this nice foot spa from Uncle Matt Matt. I gave the kids and myself red, white and blue manis and pedis to prepare for our trip.
Another fun Concert in the Park...
And another fun day at the park...
Brooklyn climbed to the top of the rock wall for the first time, and Landon climber over the tops of the playground equipment. They are both getting to be more brave!
Auntie Gail and Uncle Fred came to visit for a day. They took the kiddos to the golf course, In N Out and to see "Incredibles 2" again - what a fun day!

The kids love playing in the pool in their underwear. Somehow it's much better!

This was the easiest trip to Target! They faced each other and played Incredibles the whole time!
